The summer exhibition in the National Gallery of Ireland, Leonardo da Vinci: Ten Drawings from the Royal Collection has been extended until 24th July 2016. Over 95,000 tickets have been booked for the exhibition since it opened on 4th May and feedback from visitors has been overwhelmingly positive. Pre-book online at www.nationalgallery.ie.
The exhibition features ten of the finest surviving drawings by Leonardo da Vinci (1452-1519), selected from the outstanding collection of his work in the Royal Collection. The drawings show the variety of Leonardo’s drawing materials and the types of drawing that he made during his long career. They also show his remarkable range of interests as an artist and scientist, and capture the essential curiosity of the archetypal ‘Renaissance man’.
